Yellow leaves might also occur when the plant is underwatered. There are other causes of leaves yellowing. If your plant’s leaves turn yellow, it’s likely that your plant is overwatered. The string of hearts’ leaves are very delicate, and are the first thing to show signs that something is wrong. Let’s look at the signs to watch out for! Leaves Turn Yellow The longer you wait, the more signs will occur, and your plant will likely die in the end. After that, you’ll have to dig deeper (literally, you’ll need to do some digging!). Before it's too late, repot your plant in clean soil and begin propagating it if you notice any signs of root rot. If exposed to too much water, root rot can eventually lead to its demise. That being said, overwatering is the most common cause of death for String of Hearts plants.
